How this site is built

Static HTML generated from JSON, a palette generator that reads real Omarchy theme files, and one GitHub Action that keeps the live bits live. The repository is private; this page is the source tour.

01architecture

No framework, one generator

pages

Every route is a committed index.html written by tools/gen-site.mjs from the files in data/. Work, notes, uses, keybinds, status and this page are all data. The shell (head, header, footer) exists exactly once.

palettes

23 palettes are generated from the colors.toml of every Omarchy theme installed on the machine that builds the site. Text colors are nudged toward the foreground until they clear WCAG AA. Press t to cycle them.

live data

A GitHub Action runs hourly, calls the public GitHub API, Open-Meteo, and the status URLs, writes data/now.json and data/status.json, and commits only when something changed. The browser reads static JSON and never calls GitHub.

no trackers

No analytics, no third-party scripts. The browser fetches four outside things at most: the GitHub avatar, shields.io badges on the status page, DiceBear avatars on the guestbook, and Open-Meteo only if the hourly data is more than three hours stale.

type

Inter for text and JetBrains Mono for labels, both self-hosted variable subsets of about 40 KB with the arrows and symbols the site actually uses.

hosting

Vercel, clean URLs with trailing slashes, assets versioned by content hash and cached for a year, data cached for five minutes. Redirects and security headers live in vercel.json.
